Brent Klopfenstein

  Brent Klopfenstein is co-owner of Dallas Ballet Center and director of the Boys’ Program. He studied under scholarship in New York City with David Howard, trained with Arnott Mader of the Royal Ballet, and American Ballet Theater, and also trained with Maggie Black. Brent’s professional experience includes the Ballet Repertory Theater in New York City, ABT II. He has performed in major ballet productions such as Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Carmina Burana, Romeo and Juliet, and Les Sylphides.

Judy Klopfenstein

  Judy Klopfenstein and her husband, Brent have served as Artistic Directors for Dallas Ballet Company (formerly City Dance Theatre) since 1987. Ms Klopfenstein, native to Texas, extensively trained in NYC and professionally danced with Neubert Ballet Theatre, locally with Dallas Ballet under the direction of George Skibine, and performed aboard the SS Rotterdam.

  Under her artistic direction, DBCo dancers have been accepted to all major summer intensive workshops including School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, San Francisco Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet, Ballet Austin, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Many have continued on as professional dancers with companies such as New York City Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Houston Ballet, Fort Worth Ballet, Texas Ballet Theatre, and Ballet Austin.

  Judy has directed DBCo in performing at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City with the Symphony of Toys, presented Bravo! Ballet – a cultural event for Dallas, and toured internationally to Austria – where the company performed at Young!Tanzsommer dance festival (2006, 2010 and 2015). She also has directed a full-length annual Nutcracker since 1986. As director of Dallas Ballet Center she has staged full-length ballets including Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, La fille mal Gardee, Raymonda, Swan Lake, and Le Corsaire and has been invited to teach master classes and choreograph for numerous schools and workshops.
